Life or something like it
“Who are you being while you’re doing what you’re doing?”The Girl Who Silenced The World
This little clip, which looks like it was filmed sometime in the 80′s is proof that one person, one 13-year-old girl, can make her voice heard and make a difference.
What are we doing to make her dreams come true?
Dancing Matt
In 2007, a man who danced his way around the world became, in his words, “semi-famous” thanks to the beauty of YouTube and to people who saw the video of him dancing and were moved by it or impressed by it or just thought it was funny and sent it on to their friends.
This video means different things to different people, and is definitely one of my favourite videos to be found on the net. To me, it shows the similarities and differences between cultures and people around the world. It shows that one man (and his girlfriend) can reach out to people in so many countries and, asking nothing from them but that they dance with him (and fill in a disclaimer), get them involved and spread a little bit of joy.
Here’s where you can find the video and more about Matt…
SPW – Do you have the passion to make a difference?
A friend has recently spent a year in Vanuatu as a volunteer, teaching people of all ages about sustainability, recycling, looking after the land and each other. And there are so many opportunities around the world to make a real difference.
Here’s one that has caught my attention – SPW.
Do you have the passion to make a difference?
Would you like to help young people… protect themselves against HIV… open a library or youth centre… construct a smokeless stove… establish a recycling program?
How about learning a new language… experiencing a new culture… living on the other side of the world?
You don’t need any formal qualifications, you don’t even need to be a student!

Courage
A very interesting video entitled “Courage”. The tagline at the end, in French, means “sometimes we need more than just medication”.
Worth watching twice and sharing with your loved ones – this is a moving piece.

Hello world!
“Hello world!” – appropriate, I like it.
Hi there world, I’m Kylie. I’m… well, I’m a lot of things. I am a daughter, a sister, a girlfriend, a friend, a colleague, a kiwi, a passionate All Blacks fan, a people person, a girl (woman?) with big dreams. And here is where those dreams start.
Welcome to my blog. A few things you need to know about me…
I love people. Love learning. Love learning about and from people. So that’s where the focus will be for this blog – people. Funny, tragic, fascinating, frustrating, uplifting people. People in business, at home, in relationships, in need. Everyday people.
I also like lists. A lot. You’ll get used to that.
Talk to you soon, world!
